i've been making my own fibreglass vented bonnet for my race car (i can't afford a cabon one) using stuff i bought from Bunnings. you can get different size kits that come with everything, fibreglass sheet, resin, catalyst, measuring cup and instructions. i cut a hole in the original bonnet level with the back of the radiator 640mm long (length of radiator) and 100mm deep. i rubbed back the top of the bonnet and sprayed 2 cans of expander foam from Bunnings onto the areas that i wanted raised and glassed over. after a day of drying the foam can be cut, filed and sanded into whatever shape you like. after all that the fibreglass was the easy part. just don't mix too much catalyst in the resin or it'll go off really quick. then its just a matter of cutting sheets to the sizes you want, brush on mixed resin onto the parts your working, lay the sheets onto it and then brush more resin on top of the sheets. make sure you drench the sheets or it won't set right.
i'll try to get some pics up of the bonnet soon, hope i've helped.
